C84400 is the most widely used alloy in the semi-leaded red brass family, known for its reasonable cost with good machining and casting properties. The lead content ensures pressure tightness. C83600 Leaded Red Brass, also known as 85 metal, is the most common red brass containing 85% copper and 5% each of tin, lead and zinc.
